Coetan Arthur Cromlech nr Caernarvon
(W.View, Griffith's text)
Under the above heading, in the Arch. Camb. Vol.V 1888 there is an account of this huge block of stone. I am doubtful whether it is a Cromlech, and believe rather that it was left there by glacial action. I have seen two or three others very similar to it in both countries, and they also went by the name of Coetan Arthur. Moreover, its position is very much against the theory of its being a Cromlech, owing to the steepness of the declivity whereon it is situated. The spot where it lies, is one mile a three-quarters from Pen-rhyddallt Station, above a small farm called Cae-glas.
